Thanks!!! This is probably my favorite cupcake recipe ever. They aren't hard to make, just time consuming. And the only downside is that it requires peach extract which most grocery stores don't carry. I got mine on Amazon. Otherwise, they are reallllllly goooood and also they aren't overly sweet or anything. Perfect for just about anyone!

Peach extract?? I've never even seen that! But I have made different varieties of fruit infused vodkas - I wonder if you could make peach "extract" that way?? I'm going to have to look up the recipe for that one and see if I can tweak something to be safe for my allergy set (gluten, dairy, egg). I love peach!

well im just finding out that my two youngest one s has got a milk and peach allery and one of them also have asthsm too and I don't even have a pen in the house at all wht do I doi also have a food allergy to and we can afford one either and I ask my insurance they don't knw if they cover it

OK, so with that to go on, I found this version that calls for almond extract, but no almond paste. Most almond extract is not actually made from almonds, but from peach or apricot pits. But you would still need to exercise caution since the flavor compound are still similar to those from actual almonds. You could use a different flavor though it would be less "authentic".

I found that these seemed to always come put sticky, but putting them in a convection oven at 170° for an hour or so (or using a food dehydrator) helped make them crisp! Also, once you have the meringue ready, the quicker you get them all piped, the better they will hold their shape (the second batch seemed a bit flat). Thanks for posting this recipie, I wanted to make meringues that my boyfriend (who has an egg allergy) could eat, and everyone who has tried them has said they are good!

@lisa s - here you go: Apple Crisp 1 Tbsp margarine 7-8 medium baking apples (preferably Granny Smith) 1 cup all-purpose or sweet rice flour 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup margarine Peel, core, and thinly slice apples. Grease baking dish lightly with some of the tablespoonful of margarine, and place apples inside. Dot with additional margarine. In a medium bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon. If anyone's wondering how to put it together, I just cut toothpicks in half, and stuck the pointy ends down towards the plate. The blunt side was enough to stick into the top pieces and hold them in place.

How grateful I am to read this article today! Just last night, my 3 yr old granddaughter, who has severe allergies to sunflower, nuts (except almonds) dairy, eggs, peas, etc, ate an unpeeled fresh peach. She had a bit of redness around her chin in spots, but no swelling of the lips, tongue, eyes or mouth. She had these little coughs so we watched her closely to make sure it didn't turn into anaphylaxis. Before bed, she takes .5 mil of zyrtec for seasonal allergies and she was only 30 minutes...

Eskimomama4, having any type of food or environmental reaction is inconvenient and frustrating to say the least. I hope it gives you some comfort to know it's actually very common with OAS to react to the skin of fruit but not the peeled fruit inside. Regarding peach, it's a different little beast. According to FARRP because the peach allergen is "heat-stable and highly concentrated under the fruit skin" they recommend avoidance all together. Meaning, sadly, you can't peel it and enjoy like...

Hi Gloria - thanks for bumping this up! I have definitely added to my hotel cooking options over the past years and no longer rely on the coffee maker. Hot Logic Mini - that s is a zippered insulated "lunchbox" with a heating element inside. They make a regular plug in version as well as a 12V option. I take it the reheat leftovers in the room if I'm not sure there will be a microwave. I use Glass-Lock containers as I don't like to heat things in plastic. It does not got to boiling...
