There is a private Facebook group for kids 10-26 with food allergies. Here is the link to those interested: https://www.facebook.com/group...allergiesarentajoke/ Their description says the group "is meant to foster positivity and create a safe environment for teens and children with food allergies to talk openly about their diagnosis and life with allergies." They also state that anything discussed in the group is private, so kids don't need to worry about their friends/family seeing their ...
Kathy, The usual response is this: immediate dumfounded look, appearance of the lit light bulb above the head, followed by a simultaneous slight smile and "ohhh . . . yeah . . " This analogy is what makes my point click. Originally Posted by Kathy P: That's a great analogy. Do you find people respond well to it?

Yesterday SV's Mary Vargas argued the case of JD v. Colonial Williamsburg Foundation before the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit in Richmond, Virginia. # celiac # NCGS # disabilityrights # Foodallergies . If you would like to listen to the oral argument, here is a link to the Court's website where the oral argument audio is available: http://www.ca4.uscourts.gov/OA...QIaGF3WsD0R-FrVMPGAQ Interesting to listen to and the lack of understanding how sensitive kids are when you...
We apologize for the technical difficulties during today's class. We are working to get the issue resolved and will be sending out information about upcoming airings.
I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more about what's new in the food allergy world for kids. It can be hard to keep up with all of the information out there so hearing from an expert on the latest research is a can't miss opportunity.
Each webinar video is approximately one-hour long. I recommend picking out a few topics and watching some of these during the winter break. There is a lot of great information in these videos for parents, grandparents, teachers, school nurses, and support group leaders.
Thanks for a great webinar! Very informative and helpful. I noticed the babysitting handout shown on one of the last slides wasn't included in your list of links here, I was able to find it on my own, but thought I would point that out in case you want to add it. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this webinar! You answered so many questions for this school nurse, both during your presentation & in the Q & A session! I appreciate the time each of you gave to educate us more about epinephrine & anaphylaxis!
Thanks for the feedback ladies! I'm glad you both found the webinar and resources helpful. Thanks for noting that that the link for the babysitting handout is not there.
Hi - where can we download some of these recommended forms? My son (with several food allergies) is starting daycare this month and I would love to have a form to fill out instead of creating my own health care plan for him.
Hello @Elizabeth Marn , you can find free PDF versions of some of these forms on the AAFA store , like the Anaphylaxis Action Plan . Other forms, such as a medicine authorization form or special dietary meals accommodation form, can typically be obtained from your child's school. Ask your child's school or district for new forms, then make an appointment with your child's doctor to fill them out. A school health care plan is also set up with your child's school directly. They may already...
